Associate Google Workspace Administrator

Associate · Diagnostic coming

Explore the administration credential for managing an organization's Google Workspace environment.

Who this exam is for

This credential is aimed at administrators responsible for the everyday operation of an organization’s Google Workspace environment. Its scope reaches beyond creating accounts: service settings, data governance, access controls, managed devices, and support all matter. It fits people who need to translate an organizational policy into an administrative change while understanding the effect on users. The guide provides a useful way to separate familiar helpdesk tasks from areas needing more deliberate practice.

Google recommends: 6 months of Google Workspace Super Admin experience in a real or test environment. Hands-on experience with Business Plus edition and knowledge of Enterprise Edition features and functionality. Source.

  • Manage endpoints
  • Troubleshoot common issues

Requirements are not the same as preparation

Prerequisites stated by Google: None. No formal prerequisite does not mean no experience is needed. Review Google’s recommended experience and the official sample questions before deciding how much preparation you need.

Check the standard exam details below before booking. Renewal options can have different eligibility, formats and prices; they are not a shorter first-certification route. Confirm current availability directly with Google.

How it compares with PMLE

Workspace administration focuses on users, services, governance and organizational access. PMLE focuses on machine learning systems. These are different work paths; choose according to your responsibilities rather than assuming every Google Cloud credential belongs to the same sequence. Compare the PMLE exam guide.

Testero’s available PMLE diagnostic does not assess Associate Google Workspace Administrator readiness. The notification form is for a future Testero diagnostic, not Google exam registration. No Testero launch date is promised.

Make a plan before choosing practice

Mark the guide objectives you can already explain or perform, then set aside time for the gaps. Our free study planner can turn the guide weights into a time budget. It does not measure your skills or include a question bank for this exam.

How to prepare

  1. Read the standard guide section by section, tracing a user from account creation through service access and eventual departure. Connect Directory management to security and governance decisions instead of treating each console setting as an isolated fact.
  2. Look for relevant Google Cloud Skills Boost labs covering Workspace administration. Practice changes in an appropriate learning environment and record their scope, expected user impact, and the evidence you would check afterward.
  3. Answer the official sample questions with an administrator’s reasoning: identify the policy, the affected users or devices, and the narrowest suitable action. Revisit the documentation when two choices appear plausible rather than memorizing answer positions.
  4. Create a short support runbook that includes service issues, browser or endpoint problems, and access failures. For every investigation, state what you would inspect before making a change and how you would confirm recovery.
