Back to homeWhat the PMLE diagnostic covers
Choose 5, 10 or 20 questions based on the six domains in Google's June 1, 2026 Professional Machine Learning Engineer exam guide. The guide assigns these approximate weights:
| Domain | Approx. weight |
|---|---|
| Architecting low-code AI solutions | 13% |
| Collaborating within and across teams to manage data and models | 16% |
| Scaling prototypes into ML models | 21% |
| Serving and scaling models | 20% |
| Automating and orchestrating ML pipelines | 18% |
| Monitoring AI solutions | 13% |
The published percentages total 101% because they are approximate. The 10- and 20-question diagnostics sample all six domains. The 5-question quick check samples the five highest-weight domains; it is not a full-length official exam. Scenarios ask you to compare approaches for building and operating AI and ML systems, rather than memorize a list of products.
